June 9, 2008The fields at the Mean Green Athletic Center were packed today. Yes, it's time for the famous Todd Dodge quarterbacks and receivers camp. Dodge held the camp at Southlake Carroll and brought it with him to UNT when he took over before last season. I know the first question everyone will ask is who was there, but it's pretty much impossible to tell who anyone is. What is obvious is that Dodge still has the respect of the players and coaches in the area who send their skill position players to study under him every summer. There are two sessions going on, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. I happened to see part of the afternoon session when I was making the daily rounds. In other news of the day, a few more names have popped up in connection with UNT in football recruiting, according to Rivals.com. Naaman Forest wide receiver Derrick Osborn is listing UNT among the schools that are recruiting him while San Antonio O'Connor linebacker Jarek Lancaster has offers from UNT, Army and Air Force. Crockett athlete Ja'Gared Davis' name came up a few days ago, but I never got around to putting him on the blog. He has offers from Baylor and Louisiana Tech, but not UNT. Post your thoughts on the blog. How important is it for UNT to have so many high school prospects in Denton for Dodge's camp? The entry "UNT camp underway, recruiting notes" has no entry tags. |
