LSU looking at several options for UNT game

I spoke with an LSU official earlier today who said that there are four possibilities when it comes to where Saturday's game against LSU will be played.

The game could still be played at Tiger Stadium. The other options are Texas Stadium, the Georgia Dome and the Superdome.

LSU will make a call by Wednesday afternoon.

All apologies, friends

It's been brought to my attention many of you are upset over my referring to North Texas as Southlake North on Saturday. I apologize if any of you are deeply offended. I am an alum of North Texas and beneath my journalistic neutrality, I want to see the program do well and succeed under Todd Dodge just as much as you guys do.

That said, slow down here guys. It's just a joke. If you know me personally, I'm a jokester who says most everything with tongue thoroughly lodged in cheek. Southlake North, more than anything, is a reference to the Mean Green changing their uniforms to look exactly like Southlake Carroll's. And given all the other now obvious connections the team has to Southlake, I thought it was funny to refer to it as Southlake North when it isn't playing well.

Apparently you guys didn't think it was funny. I apologize if you were offended.

Breaking news -- UNT gets Gilmore back

UNT defensive end Eddrick Gilmore will be back at practice on Tuesday and will be eligible to play for the Mean Green this season, head coach Todd Dodge confirmed Monday.

Gilmore was not academically eligible at the beginning of the season, but has since caught up.

Gilmore was an impact player at the end of last season, when he started the last seven games of year. Gilmore had 35 tackles, including six for losses.

UNT has struggled defensively early this season and lacks playmakers on that side of the ball.

Dodge said that he didn't know if Gilmore would be ready physically for a few weeks while he works himself into shape.

Gilmore does give UNT another option at this point, though, and that has to be good news for the Mean Green.
