Giovanni Vizza was just knocked out of the Mean Green's game against FIU. Vizza was shaken up on a 7-yard run and has been replaced by Nathan Tune. FIU is up 35-0 following a Paul McCall touchdown pass. |

PLEASE CANCEL YOUR FOOTBALL PROGRAM! I would suggest stepping back to a lower divisional program, but UNT cant compete on any level even high school. Follow the lead of UTA and give up the ghost. This is a junior high stadium and the caliber of football played there reflects it. Todd Dodge are you kidding me?

I am a UNT student, can they really expect students to vote to increase tuition $300 a year for a new stadium? Its going to take much more than a new stadium to fix what's wrong with this program.

SLC Alumni, I'm glad you aren't a graduate of UNT considering your spelling of "loser."

Robert,
The $7.00 per hour increase to $10.00 per hour is for an athletic's fee. It is illegal to use tuition money to fund the athletic department. Even at $10.00 per semester hour, capped at 15 hours, North Texas is still behind many other Division 1 universities in funding their athletic department and the results show.
Fouts Field is in disrepair and in another four or five years will cost too much to maintain. It is not ADA compliant and is falling apart at the seams. A new stadium will not only benefit the athletes that play there, but provide a venue for the administration to entertain donors, provide a venue that will allow television stations to easily broadcast games and, as Dr. Pohl stated a few year's ago, provide a window to the whole university.
This vote for the athletic's fee will add value to each and every graduate's degree and show people that UNT is an excellent university in all facets.
Your decision should not be tied to the current team's performance, but should be made understanding how it benefits the university as a whole. And don't forget, the fee does not take effect until the proposed new stadium opens, which would be 2011 at the earliest.

Todd Dodge was a lousy QB at Texas in the 80's and a lousy coach now. Fire him immediately!!!!
