A couple of notes

UNT has announced that Army cadets will parachute into Fouts Field with the game ball on Saturday, which will be very cool.

On the basketball front, has there ever been a better timed win for UNT than the Mean Green's victory over UTA last night?

The Mean Green and Josh White saved the day for at least a while for UNT's beaten-down fan base. The football season has been brutal, the UNT women's basketball team hasn't won a game yet and blew a big lead the other day, but the men's hoops team came through.

It's pretty apparent that White could be in for a special season. He had 35 last night and also had a big game in the Mean Green's opener. This team is really deep. Eric Tramiel battled foul trouble all night, but Jacob Holmen stepped right in and played well. If he doesn't hit a free throw late, UNT never would have had the chance to win the game in double overtime.

On the women's hoops front, Ni'qky Hughes will return to Texas tomorrow. Hughes transferred to UNT from Texas. It will be interesting to see how she plays against some of her old teammates.
