Update 3:55 -- UNT is up 58-48 at the final media timeout. Brandan Walton is headed to the line. The guy is just on fire.

Update 4:27 -- UNT is on an 11-0 run. Actually, Brandan Walton is on an 11-0 run. He has three 3s and a layup during the surge. UNT is up 58-46.

Update 7:01 -- UNT is up 50-46 and has the ball coming out of the third media timeout of the second half. Tony Mitchell has 17 points and Alzee Williams has 11 for UNT. UNT was up six before giving up a 5-0 run. Brandan Walton just hit a huge 3 for UNT.

Update 14:52 -- UNT is up 36-33 at the first media timeout of the second half. UNT is headed to the line for a couple of free throws. Tony Mitchell has 16 points and eight rebounds.

Halftime -- UNT is up 26-23 at halftime, despite missing a couple of free throws at the end of the first half that could have pushed its lead a little higher. Tony Mitchell has 10 points for UNT.

Update 34.6 -- UNT is up 25-23 and has the ball with 29 seconds left on the shot clock. Johnny Jones was not happy with a no-call on a Tony Mitchell shot that FIU got a hand on.

Update 3:30 -- FIU scored on its last possession. UNT is up 20-19. I think the officials just flat missed a foul call on a pass to Tony Mitchell in the paint. He was about to dunk it and was fouled. I am pretty sure they called the foul on the floor.

Update 3:56 -- UNT is up 20-17 at the final media timeout of the first half. Tony Mitchell has eight and just threw down a terrific dunk. Tyler Hall gave UNT its first lead of the game on a 3. UNT has shut down FIU's key 3-point shooters on the perimeter since that early run of 3s.

Update 10:38 -- UNT has come back and pulled to within 13-10 at the second media timeout of the first half. Alzee Williams has four points for the Mean Green.

First media TO men's game -- UNT is down 11-6 at the 13:00 mark of the first half. Phil Taylor has three 3s already. I have no idea how UNT has left him open for that many good looks. Tony Mitchell picked up a foul 18 seconds into the game.

Final -- UNT falls 68-65. Tamara Torru had a good look at a 3 from the wing at the buzzer that was a little short. It looked like it was going to drop.

Update 9.5 -- UNT is down 68-65 and has the ball coming out of an FIU timeout. The question is if FIU will foul or not. I bet they will. UNT has no timeouts.

Update 10.8 -- UNT is down 66-65. FIU has the ball out of the timeout. UNT will got for the steal and foul is it does not get it.

Update 58.3 -- UNT has pulled to within 64-61 on a Sara Stanley layup.

Update 2:32 -- UNT just got a big rebound and bucket from Sara Stanley and is within 63-57. FIU has the ball.

Update 3:27 -- FIU hit both free throws to go up nine, but Brittney Hudson just hit a 3. UNT is back within 61-55. UNT will press right here.

Update 3:40 -- UNT is down 59-52 at the final media timeout. UNT has played some good defense late and force a shot clock violation. UNT was called for a foul on a loose ball at the end of the shot clock. FIU is headed to the line. That call, which was the right one, really hurt UNT right there.

Update 4:33 -- UNT is down 59-52 late in the second half. A 5-0 FIU run pushed the Panthers' small lead out a bit.

Update 7:48 -- UNT is down three at the third media timeout. FIU has the ball coming out of the timeout. Sara Stanley and Tamara Torru both have 11 points for UNT. Brittney Hudson has 10. UNT has 18 turnovers, which is not helping.

Update 8:16 -- UNT was down five, but Sara Stanley hit a jumper to pull the Mean Green within 51-48. UNT just called for time. Brittney Hudson has 10 for the Mean Green. UNT caught a break when FIU had a 3 pop out that would have extended its lead.

Update 11:59 -- FIU is on a run and has taken a 43-42 lead. Fanni has thrown her weight around in the second half and has 12 points. Tamara Torru has 11 for UNT, which has gone cold from the field. Laura McCoy hit a big shot to keep UNT from falling farther behind.

Update 15:05 -- FIU's Fanni Hutlassa just hit a 3 to pull the Golden Panthers to within 37-31. I just wanted to say Fanni Hutlassa, by the way. Tamara Torru has 11 for UNT. Laura McCoy has six assists.

Halftime -- UNT is up 30-24 at halftime here in Miami. The Mean Green's bench was huge in the first half with Brittney Hudson and Sara Stanley combining for

Update 6:58 -- We have hit the third media timeout with the Mean Green up 18-12. FIU pulled to within 13-12 with an 11-2 run, but UNT has come back with five quick points. Tamara Torru hit a 3 that got the Mean Green back on track. Desiree Nelson and Torru both have five points.

I got here at the last minute for today's doubleheader between FIU and UNT, but I have everything set up now.

The women's game just got underway a few minutes ago and UNT is already pulling away from FIU. UNT is up 11-2 at the 12:30 mark.
